Bridesmaid Dresses
One mistake many people make is deliberately choosing bridesmaid dresses which really aren't very nice, believing this will really make the brides dress sparkle even more. This is a big mistake. Bridesmaid dresses aren't there to look garish or sub-par, but are there to look beautiful as an accompaniment to the brides dress.
For instance, take a fine piece of jewellery encrusted with a variety of precious stones. The bride is the centrepiece, the main or biggest gem, and the others, whilst beautiful, are merely accompaniments. The bride is the stone which stands above all others as the most sparkling and most precious.
Bridesmaid dresses elevate the occasion by being extremely beautiful, but they serve to show off the bride as the true gem of the bunch – and this can be easily achieved with some careful planning and thought.
Things to consider before choosing bridesmaid dresses or indeed the brides dress, is to decide which season you wish to have the wedding. Some dresses were not made for certain seasons and will be absolutely unsuitable in certain conditions. The last thing you need is to feel feint because of the sweltering heat because you are wearing a heavy or full-armed dress, or shivering from the cold because the dress is too skimpy.
Another factor of great importance is the colour. It has to be said; white is by far the best colour theme for weddings. It is time honoured and will suit all hair and skin colours, so the bridesmaids in their uniform dresses will not look mismatched or ill-suited no matter their skin tone or hair colour.
As a final note, you may wish to consider making the bridesmaid dresses slightly more conservative in style than the brides dress – but don't take this as a ticket to go overboard. The brides dress should be classy and tasteful, not garish or too ostentatious.
